How Does Microneedling with PRP Work?
SkinPen is the first FDA-cleared microneedling device, ensuring the utmost safety of each and every patient. We also ensure your comfort by applying a topical numbing gel after cleansing the treatment area. This will start to take effect while your sample is collected and processed in our on-site lab using the FDA-approved ProGen PRP centrifuge. The platelets, growth factors, and stem cells will be condensed into Platelet Rich Plasma. PRP is used during microneedling and will absorb into the epidermis, where it can deliver nutrients, hormones, and proteins to stimulate the natural healing process.
SkinPen treatment itself can be divided into three phases:
- Inflammation: SkinPen’s microneedles trigger your body’s own immune system to naturally disinfect the wounds, remove debris, increase blood flow, and begin to create new tissue.
- Proliferation: The micro-perforations are rebuilt with new granulation cells that include collagen proteins. Additionally, a new network of blood vessels develops.
